Three weeks until Byron Bay Writer’s Festival so it’s time to dust off the blog. We will present personal stories, accounts and interviews of what we see and hear at the festival. It’s my 7th year and I’m working again with Jeanti St Clair from Southern Cross University and her team of talented media students to bring a huge array of stories.
Novelist (This Is How, Carry Me Down and How The Light Gets In) MJ Hyland was here in 2011 and is back and I was quick to sign up for her masterclass. It’s not my first time and although it involves a lot of work, (writing 1500 words and evaluating the work of all the other participants) I was keen.
MJ Hyland is the kind of writer, teacher and editor whose scrutiny you want your work to stand up to, and to find out how you can improve it further.
The blogging team has been planning for months and we’re excited that this year Blog Central will be located in the heart of the grounds. You will be able to follow all the action and be a part of the conversation here on the blog, on Facebook and on Twitter #bbwf2013 and #bbwf13.
