What We’re Reading: Pt 3

It’s festival week for #BBWF2015 and honestly, there has not been a lot of time to read! The festival site construction is underway and it has been all hands on deck. The first workshop begins today, artists have started to arrive, and our office is buzzing with volunteers. With all this excitement, it is even more important to wind down to a few pages of quality reading.

Here’s what we have been reading this week (or trying to anyways):

Hello, Beautiful! Scenes From a Life, Hannie Rayson

– This made me laugh out loud. Hannie captures my favourite city, Melbourne, with its distinctive suburbs, in perfect tones and invites you into her life her stories about her family and career.

Penny Leonard – Program Coordinator

Clade

Clade, James Bradley

– I read a proof copy of Bradley’s latest novel and couldn’t put it down. Bradley’s writing is exquisite; the narrative is beautifully structured and the futuristic world he creates is believably terrifying. Happily there is some hope too.

My Salinger YearJoanna Rakoff

-Finding out how a literary agency runs and the quirks of real life agents was fascinating.

Sarah Ma – Operations Manager

Hannie Rayson and James Bradley will both be featuring at the festival, so don’t miss them and all the other amazing artists featuring at #BBWF2015. Most of our feature events and workshops have already sold out, get in quick for last minute sales! It is not to be missed!
